About Shrubgarden
Over time, this plot of land (only a short distance from Newcastle), has developed from exclusively agricultural use to the perfect place to grow a variety of different plants including trees, shrubs, ferns and herbaceous plants. It’s still also used as grazing land for sheep, retaining the original use and reaffirming the connection between nature and wildlife.
Work was undertaken to reinvigorate the dilapidated agricultural buildings and sheep tunnel, turning it into a small functioning nursery, now well-equipped to grow a variety of high-quality plants. A small polytunnel is used for growing seed plants and plug plants, whilst the five-acre adjacent field is used for growing trees and hedges.
The plants grown at our nursery are available exclusively online, meaning you can browse through our collection of plants from the comfort of your own home.
We offer delivery throughout the UK, meaning wherever you’re based in the country, you can have a piece of Northumberland delivered straight to your door.
