There are many types of conifer trees including pine trees, spruces, redwoods, junipers, thujas and many more. The three main characteristics of a conifer tree are they have cones, spiny foliage and can vary in size, quite drastically.

Conifers are a great plant species to have in your garden, with some growing fruit too. Junipers have small, round berry-like fruit that turn a blueish-black colour when they are ripe, whilst yew trees feature a fleshy fruit known as an aril.
